I Want to Be a Cowboy’s Sweetheart Patsy Montana (nee Rubye Blevins)

When Patsy recorded this song in the 30’s, she became the first female country singer ever to sell a million records. Patsy wrote us a letter and sent some of her country music “trading cards”. We framed them and hung them on the wall. BTW, check out Patsy’s real name -- Jacquie's maiden name is also Blevins! Hah! Cousins!

I want to be a cowboy's sweetheart
I want to learn to rope and ride
I want to ride o'er the plains and the deserts
Out west of the great divide
I want to hear the coyotes howlin'
While the sun sets in the West
I wan to be a cowboy's sweetheart
The life I love the best

I want to ride Old Paint, goin' on a run
I want to feel the wind in my face
A thousand miles from all those city lights
I wanna go at cowhand's pace
I want to pillow my head near a sleeping herd
While the moon shines down from above
I want to strum my guitar and yodel-ay-eee-hee
‘Cause that's the life I love!
